What Lies in Your Mattress?

DISCOVER THE TRUTH

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS HIDING IN YOUR MATTRESS?

Considering that you spend a third of your life sleeping, it is critical to make sure that the mattress you are sleeping on is made of clean and healthy materials. But is it?

The Reasons Why Chemicals are
Used in Common Mattresses

Fragrance

Compounds may be added to mask or offset the smell of the original construction material.

Temperature control

Surface-modified memory foams or memory foams with cooling gels.

Microbe inhibition

Material that inhibits or kills the growth of microorganisms such as fungus, bacteria, or dust mites.

Coloring

Compounds that get mixed with the construction materials to make the mattress look more appealing.

Flame retardation

Chemicals designed to reduce the flammability of a multitude of consumer products.

Here's a list of the components that common mattresses -- the kind you're likely to find at popular retail outlets -- use to enhance their construction properties while reducing their costs. These are either chemical substances, or the result of a combination of materials that involves industrial chemical processes.

Our mattresses do NOT contain memory foam, Volatile Organic Compounds, or harsh chemical flame retardants. Considering that you spend ⅓ of your life sleeping, it is critical to make sure that the mattress you are sleeping on is made with clean and healthy materials.

Traditional mattresses can sometimes utilize petroleum-based foams and chemical flame retardants that emit harmful off-gassing. Truly organic mattresses are free of these harmful ingredients and offer many other benefits such as being hypoallergenic, durable, and above all, extremely comfortable.

What Ordinary Mattresses
May Contain

Chemical flame retardants

Chemicals that are applied to materials to prevent the start or slow the growth of fire.

Volatile Organic Compounds

Compounds that have a high vapor pressure and low water solubility.

Blended latex

A blend of the liquid of natural and synthetic types of latex before the molding process begins.

Soy-based foam

Synthetic foam that contains 20% soy content. The rest is highly flammable polyurethane foam.

Organic mattresses are important for both your health and the earth. They help reduce your carbon footprint and emit fewer harmful toxins in the air. They are renewable and according to the Organic Trade Association, organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, use natural fertilizers in place of toxic pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture.

Organic mattresses also help you commit to healthier overall well being by elevating and prioritizing your sleep.
